To Juice or not to Juice?

Health & well-being can come in many guises.

Some people swear by juicing, some vehemently disagree with it, whether you are a fan or not, we thought we’d give it a go!

We both decided to go big! We flew to beautful Portugal to none other than Juicy Oasis!

This is the vision of Jason Vale also known as the Juice Master, he’s on a mission for the last 20 years to ‘Juice the world’.

He believes when we are sick and/or overweight, we are full of toxins & the best way to treat you (primariy) is to get rid of toxins, the best way to do that according to Jason is through juicing, through the concentration of nutrients you get from fresh fruit & vegetable.

Our visit is summed up below:

Top Tips if you do decide to try juicing:

  1. Give up caffiene 3 dys before you start.
  2. Reduce refined sugars & procesed food 3 days before you begin juicing
  3. Give upp alcohol 3 days prior to juicing.

Giving up the above will give you a bit of a head start and will reduce withdrawal headaches.

Try to drink at least 2 litres of water whilst jucing to stay hydrated.

At Juicy Oasis we had a mixture of juices and blends (also known as smoothies),  As an added boost we would have a super green shot some mornings and a ginger shot on other mornings to give ourselves a boost!

If you feel bloated, try to add in more cucumber and celery.

If you’d like to give it a try I’d recommend you follow a tried and tested method, Jason Vale has a number of books if you want to try at home, we would recommend  either his books or his app you can get from here.  If you have any health issues please consult your Doctor before starting.

Both Jenny & I would recommend to get away to a retreat if you can, not only don’t have temptations around you and you  get to recharge so you are ready to take on the world on your return to reality!

If you want a more varied approach to more meat free meals (including a breakfast juice) why not join us to get confident in the kitchen by joining our course here.
